News and Events at Mariposa
August 3 & 4
Winemaker Ken Post and the Production Crew will be bottling the 2009 Crū Chardonnays. This year's lineup of Crū Chardonnays is in the final planning stages.
It will consist of five to six different wines, one of which could be a stainless steel fermented Chardonnay. What makes a stainless steel
fermented Chardonnay special is it not only skips the secondary malo-lactic fermentation process, but it never sees the inside of a barrel.
The flavors are characterized as crisper and more fruit forward than a typical barrel fermented Chardonnay, as the secondary malo-lactic
fermentation is what creates the buttered popcorn aroma and more viscous mouth feel.
September 1, 2 and 3
